On what was a surprisingly hot day on the 11 of March – given Cape Towns unpredictable weather as of late! – the Blockhouse Kitchen in Constantia welcomed a group of 20 Rustenburg Old Girls gathering to celebrate their 80th birthdays. Most of the ladies travelled from Cape Town and surrounding areas, making the journey a fairly easy one. Gail Powers (Alexander) travelled from Sedgefield, Cherry Pott (Duxbury) flew in from White River and Mickey Grant (Kilpin) from Johannesburg. The lunch was such a
success that they even decided not to wait until their 65 or 79 reunion but to get together every 2 years.
